What happens if I change my mind about being in the study?

You may withdraw your consent and discontinue participation at any time by contacting the study team.

How will the researchers protect my privacy?

Your positive activity posts or entries, survey data, and all other information entered through your mobile phone will be coded with a unique non-decodable identifier so that all information you provide will remain confidential. Any information that you share in the Forum section of the app can be seen by other study participants. The Forum will have dedicated “Rooms,” such as the Gratitude Room, Acts of Kindness Room, Observed Beauty Room, Strengths Room, or Love Letter Room, where participants can share posts or examples of that specific Room topic with other study participants. You/your name will not be identified unless you choose to identify yourself. You will be responsible for any personal information that you share about yourself or your loved one (the patient).

What phone version/operating system do I need?

The Roadmap 2.0 app requires that you have an iPhone running iOS 10 or later or an Android device running 5.0 Lollipop or later.

Will this app kill my battery?

You can check what percentage of your battery the app is using by accessing “Settings” > “Battery.” Usage should be minimal to nothing.

Why is my data from the last few days not displaying on the app dashboard?

Try opening the Fitbit app on your phone and manually syncing. Your dashboard should update within 24 hours. Data such as mood and steps should be updated instantly. Know that the sleep data may not be displayed immediately, as we collect this data from the Fitbit server once daily in the morning. If the data is not synced before it is collect, in Roadmap it may show as “missing”, but as long as the Fitbit app has the information, we will be able to collect it the following day.

My data still isn’t showing?

If you are still missing data, follow these steps: charge your Fitbit and hold the side sensor button until a smiley face appears open Roadmap 2.0 and disconnect the Fitbit reset your phone then connect the Fitbit to Roadmap again. If you are still having issues, please email us at ROADMAPstudy@med.umich.edu.

What if I get a new phone?

That is not a problem at all. Just email us at ROADMAPstudy@med.umich.edu and our Study Team will reset your Access Code so you can log on to the app on your new phone.

Where do I go for technical support?
